A still life is a piece of art where the focus is on objects from life that usually do not move. Fruit or flowers are typical still life subject matter.

Contour drawing is a drawing where you focus on the outline of an object. Most people also think of a contour drawing as a drawing where you never life up your pencil. Contour drawings are attractive not for their perfection, but rather their ability to show emotion and life.

Reductive drawing, or subtractive drawing, is when you start with a surface that you can erase. Instead of drawing the object you bring back the object by erasing where all the highlights are located.
