We will be making a small book this year in art that represents the seven elements of art. The art of zentangle incorporates a lot of the elements and principals of art, so I thought using zentangles on the cover would be a good place to start.
Zentangles are drawings, or doodles, that do not represent anything. They are simply lines, shapes, texture, pattern, and repetition all mashed up into one design. Here's what I'm looking for:
Elements of art: Do you have lines? Of course you do, but do you have a variety of lines? Do you have texture? It's pretty much impossible not to have texture if you have lines, so you probably did a great job!
Principals of art: Does everything look the same, or were you able to figure out how to create contrast in your design? I hope you have a variety of thick and thin, and light and dark.
Requirements:
1. Did you draw your name using shapes (block letters, etc.)?
2. Did you use a variety of lines?
3. Did you create shapes by overlapping your lines?
4. Did your craftsmanship take away from the appearance of your zentangle?

Would you like this zentangle wall in your house?
